The terminal is relatively new, expanded in recent years to handle growing traffic. You will need to fill out an entry form on the plane or at immigration. Once outside, you are immediately at the taxi area and parking lot. There is a currency exchange inside arrivals and an ATM. Morocco uses the Dirham (MAD), and you cannot buy it outside the country, so the airport exchange is where most visitors get their first cash.

Grand taxis (shared or private) are the main option outside the airport. These are typically older Mercedes sedans. They are not metered, so always agree on the price with the driver before getting in — ask the airport information desk or a police officer at the taxi stand for a current reference fare to negotiate against, since posted rate boards are not always available.

Choose a grand taxi if you are comfortable negotiating, traveling light, and heading to central Tangier. Choose a pre-booked transfer if you want a fixed price, are traveling with family, arriving late, or heading somewhere beyond the city. Choose a rental car if you plan to explore northern Morocco independently. Avoid counting on public transport as there is no direct bus or rail link to the airport.
