The only fixed, publicly published fare for Split Airport transport is the airport bus. Taxis are metered with a fixed airport starting rate, and pre-booked transfers quote a price at booking, but neither is set by a regulator — always get a quote or confirm the fare before you travel. Here is what to expect on the most common routes.
To Split city center / Old Town (24 km)
- Bus line 37: 2 EUR bought online, at a kiosk, or at the ticket window, or 4 EUR paid to the driver (Promet Split's official tariff, effective 1 June 2026). Drops off at Split bus terminal near the ferry port.
- Airport taxi: Metered with a fixed airport starting rate — ask the driver for an estimate before you set off.
- Pre-booked transfer: Price is fixed and shown at booking; compare it against a taxi estimate.

To Trogir (6 km)
- Airport taxi / pre-booked transfer: One of the shortest and cheapest airport-to-destination routes in Croatia, given the short distance. Confirm the fare with the driver or provider.
Drive time: 10 minutes. Trogir's UNESCO-listed old town is a short drive directly from the airport.
To Kaštela / Solin (10-15 km), Omiš (35 km), Makarska (65 km), the Hvar ferry port in Split (26 km), Šibenik (80 km), and Dubrovnik (230 km)
No bus service covers these routes. Taxi and transfer pricing is not publicly regulated for any of them — get a fixed quote from your transfer provider, or ask a taxi driver for an estimate, before departure. For Dubrovnik in particular, most travelers fly or take an intercity bus rather than book ground transport for the 230 km drive.
Note for the Hvar ferry: confirm whether you want the car ferry terminal for Stari Grad (Hvar) or the catamaran terminal for Hvar Town when booking. They are in the same general area but different berths.

Group size matters for the bus — the fare above is per person, so a family pays more than a solo traveler, but the bus still drops you at the terminal, not your door.
Distance is the primary cost driver for taxis and transfers. Trogir being 6 km versus Split being 24 km makes a very large practical difference even without fixed numbers to compare.
Time of day has minimal impact on standard airport routes; some pre-booked transfers may carry a modest late-night surcharge — ask when booking.
Vehicle size affects transfer pricing. Larger vehicles for groups of five or more, or for extra luggage, cost more than a standard sedan — this is quoted at booking.

Budget solo traveler to Split: Bus line 37 is the cheapest option at 2-4 EUR. Couple to Split center: The bus remains cheapest; a transfer gives direct hotel drop-off for a price agreed at booking. Family of four to Split: A transfer or taxi is usually more practical once you factor in a second taxi from the bus terminal — get a quote first. Going to Trogir: A taxi or transfer is the obvious choice at this distance — barely worth comparing to the bus. Going to Makarska or Omiš: A pre-booked transfer is the only realistic option; confirm the price when you book.
