Gdansk is one of the most affordable airport transfers in Europe. Here's what each option costs — and, just as importantly, which of those costs are actually published and which are not.
The short answer
Train: a city ticket at 8.50 PLN. Bus: 4.80 PLN. Taxi, Bolt and transfers have no single published fare — you get those numbers from the meter's rate card, the app, or your booking.
What the published fares are
Rail fares come from the Taryfa Pomorska, the joint PKP SKM / Polregio tariff. Buses are ZTM Gdańsk. Both publish price lists:

The train is still the cheap option
At 8.50 PLN for a single city ticket, the SKM/PKM train from Gdansk Airport remains one of the better-value airport rail links in Europe. And it's not a slow, awful train — it's a modern commuter service that drops you at Gdańsk Główny (main station) in the heart of the city, walking distance to the Old Town. The trip usually involves a change at Gdańsk Wrzeszcz.
Buy tickets from the machines on the platform (cards accepted). Trains run every 15-30 minutes during the day.
The Tri-City factor
Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia form the "Tri-City" (Trójmiasto). The SKM train connects all three. The Gdańsk city ticket (8.50 PLN) covers you inside Gdańsk — including the airport and Gdańsk Główny. To continue to Sopot or Gdynia you want the Tri-City ticket at 12.50 PLN. Both prices are from the Taryfa Pomorska list in force since 1 March 2026.
Either way the train covers the coast for a fraction of any road option.
When road transport makes sense
Hotels outside the train line: Not every hotel is near an SKM station. If your accommodation is in Zaspa or Przymorze, you might need a bus or taxi from the station anyway.
Heavy luggage: The walk from the terminal to the train station (5-10 min) and from Główny station to your hotel isn't fun with 3 suitcases.
Groups: A single taxi split 3-4 ways closes much of the gap against individual train tickets — worth pricing when you are more than two.
Late night: No trains after ~11 PM. Taxi/Bolt or transfer only.
About the road fares
Gdansk taxis are metered, but there is no single city-wide airport fare to quote: each operator sets its own rate card, and a higher night and weekend tariff (Taryfa 2) normally applies. The card must be displayed in the vehicle — read it before you get in and ask for an estimate to your address. Bolt and Uber quote you in the app before you confirm. A pre-booked transfer is fixed at the moment you book. Those three sources are the only reliable numbers; anything else is a guess.
Hidden costs
- Train + walk: The train gets you to Główny station. Your hotel might be a 10-15 minute walk from there (most Old Town hotels are). No extra cost, but factor in the walk time.
- Taxi night tariff: A higher rate applies at night and at weekends. Check the rate card for the actual difference.
- Bolt/Uber surge: Possible during peak times or bad weather, but the app shows it before you confirm.
- No tolls: There are no highway tolls between the airport and Gdansk.
