For northern destinations, a private transfer is the most practical option. The bus connection requires going to Santa Cruz first and changing, adding over an hour to the journey. If you are staying in the north, consider whether TFN (Tenerife North Airport, Los Rodeos) might be served by your airline. It is much closer to Puerto de la Cruz and Santa Cruz.

TFS receives a significant number of late-night charter arrivals. Flights from the UK, Germany, and other European countries often land between 10 PM and 1 AM.

The TITSA bus service becomes infrequent after around 10 PM and does not run 24 hours. For late arrivals, the practical options are taxi or pre-booked transfer.

Tenerife is an extremely popular family destination. The airport handles this volume competently. The terminal is single-storey and easy to navigate with strollers and trolleys.

Child seats are not available in taxis. Pre-book a transfer if you need one. Tenerife roads are good but can include mountain sections if you are going inland or to the north — child seats are advisable.

For the southern resort strip (Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Costa Adeje), road surfaces are excellent and journeys are 20-35 minutes. This is uncomplicated family driving.
