The upside of arriving late
Lima's traffic disappears after 10 PM. The drive to Miraflores that takes 50 minutes at rush hour can take as little as 20–25 minutes late at night. This is a genuine advantage.
Safety considerations
The airport terminal is well lit and has security present. The route from the airport to Miraflores via Avenida Faucett and Javier Prado is a major road and generally safe.
What you should avoid: accepting rides from people who approach you inside or outside the terminal, walking outside the terminal perimeter to flag down cars, and carrying large amounts of visible cash.
If your flight is severely delayed
