How Much It Costs to Get from Split Airport to the City

Last updated: March 2026

Split Airport transport pricing is clear and fairly consistent across providers. The airport bus has a fixed fare, taxis use metered rates with a fixed airport premium, and pre-booked transfers are confirmed at booking. Here is what you should expect to pay to the most common destinations.

To Split city center / Old Town (24 km)

  • Bus line 37: 5 EUR per person. Drops off at Split bus terminal near the ferry port.
  • Airport taxi: 35-50 EUR. Metered with a fixed airport starting rate.
  • Pre-booked transfer: 30-50 EUR.
Drive time: 25-35 minutes.

To Trogir (6 km)

  • Airport taxi: 10-15 EUR. One of the shortest and cheapest airport-to-destination routes in Croatia.
  • Pre-booked transfer: 15-25 EUR.
Drive time: 10 minutes. Trogir's UNESCO-listed old town is a short drive directly from the airport.

To Kaštela / Solin (10-15 km)

  • Airport taxi: 20-30 EUR.
  • Pre-booked transfer: 18-28 EUR.
Drive time: 15-20 minutes.

To Omiš (35 km)

  • Airport taxi: 45-65 EUR.
  • Pre-booked transfer: 40-60 EUR.
Drive time: 35-45 minutes via the coastal road.

To Makarska (65 km)

  • Airport taxi / transfer: 70-100 EUR. No shuttle service covers this route.
Drive time: 60-75 minutes.

To Split ferry terminal / Hvar ferry (26 km)

  • Airport taxi: 35-50 EUR to the appropriate ferry terminal.
  • Pre-booked transfer: 30-50 EUR.
Note: confirm whether you want the car ferry terminal for Stari Grad (Hvar) or the catamaran terminal for Hvar Town when booking. They are in the same general area but different berths.

To Šibenik (80 km)

  • Pre-booked transfer: 90-120 EUR.
Drive time: About 80 minutes.

To Dubrovnik (230 km)

  • Pre-booked transfer: 250-350 EUR. Most travelers fly or take an intercity bus instead.
Drive time: 3-4 hours.

What affects the price

Group size matters for the bus. At 5 EUR per person, a couple pays 10 EUR; a family of four pays 20 EUR — still much cheaper than a taxi, but the bus drops you at the terminal, not your door.

Distance is the primary cost driver for taxis and transfers. Trogir being 6 km versus Split being 24 km makes a very large price difference.

Time of day has minimal impact on standard airport routes. Pre-booked transfers for late-night arrivals may carry a small surcharge but this is typically modest.

Vehicle size affects transfer pricing. Larger vehicles for groups of five or more or for passengers with extra luggage cost 10-20 EUR more than a standard sedan.

Best value by situation

Budget solo traveler to Split: Bus line 37 (5 EUR). Couple to Split center: Bus (10 EUR total) is cheapest; a transfer (30-50 EUR) gives direct hotel drop-off. Family of four to Split: Transfer or taxi (35-50 EUR total, comparable to 20 EUR bus fare once you factor in a second taxi from the bus terminal). Going to Trogir: Taxi (10-15 EUR) — best value in the area, barely worth comparing alternatives. Going to Makarska or Omiš: Transfer only realistic option.
