Paris Orly is 14 km from the city center. France uses the Euro. Here's every option with the fares as published by the operators and the government.
Public transport: one ticket, 14 EUR
Ile-de-France Mobilites sells a single fare for airport journeys, the Ticket Paris Region - Aeroports: 14 EUR full fare, 7 EUR reduced (fares applicable 1 January 2026). It covers Metro line 14 into Orly, the Orlyval, and the RER.
Metro line 14 - the fast way in
Line 14 was extended to Orly in June 2024 and reaches Chatelet in about 25 minutes, step-free the whole way. For most travellers this is now the obvious public transport choice.
Orlyval + RER B
The Orlyval shuttle to Antony station, then RER B into central Paris. 35-45 minutes to Chatelet-Les Halles, on the same 14 EUR ticket. Worth it only if your destination is on the RER B.
Tram T7 + Metro - check before you count on it
The T7 tram from Orly to Villejuif-Louis Aragon, then Metro 7, takes 50-60 minutes. Ile-de-France Mobilites prices its Bus-Tram ticket at 2.05 EUR and its Metro-Train-RER ticket at 2.55 EUR, but marks both as not valid to or from the airports, pointing airport passengers at the 14 EUR ticket instead. Treat the T7 as a possible cheap workaround to verify with Ile-de-France Mobilites, not as a guaranteed 4-euro fare.
OrlyBus - gone
The OrlyBus (RATP line 283) was withdrawn on 3 March 2025 after Metro line 14 took its traffic. It does not run. Older guides still list it at around 11 EUR; ignore them.
Flat-rate taxi - 36 or 45 EUR
Paris taxis from the airports use government-set flat rates, fixed by the arrete of 24 December 2025 and in force since 1 January 2026:

Beyond Paris
The flat rate applies only between the airport and a Paris address. Everywhere else, a taxi runs on the meter, so there is no fixed figure to quote - ask the driver for an estimate before you set off, or book a fixed price.

From three people up, the flat-rate taxi is cheaper than buying airport tickets - and it's door-to-door. That makes it one of the better deals in Parisian transport.
Bottom line
Solo travellers: Metro line 14 on the 14 EUR ticket, about 25 minutes to Chatelet. Groups of three or more: the flat-rate taxi at 36-45 EUR is cheaper than tickets and far easier. Families: a transfer with child seats costs a little more but removes the stress of navigating the Paris transit system with kids.
