Boryspil's Terminal D is modern and reasonably family-friendly, but the 35 km drive to Kyiv requires some planning when you are traveling with children.
Inside the terminal
Terminal D has elevators, escalators, and baby changing facilities in the restrooms. Luggage trolleys are free in the baggage claim area. There is a small pharmacy and convenience store in the arrivals hall if you need last-minute supplies.
The walk from the gate to baggage claim is moderate. With young children, allow an extra 10 minutes.

The car seat issue
Ukrainian law requires child restraints for children under 12, but enforcement in taxis is inconsistent and availability is virtually zero. Neither Uber, Bolt, nor regular taxis provide car seats.
Your options:
1. Bring your own and install it yourself in the vehicle 2. Book a private transfer with a car seat requested at the time of booking 3. Use the SkyBus where car seats are not required (children sit on the bus)
A private transfer is the most practical choice for families. The driver meets you at arrivals, helps with luggage, and the car seat is already installed in the vehicle.
The SkyBus with kids
The SkyBus is usable with children but not ideal. It has luggage storage underneath, but space fills up on busy services. There are no dedicated family seats. If you have a stroller, it goes in the luggage compartment. During quiet times it works; during peak hours with a toddler and suitcases, it is stressful.
Strollers and car seats at the airport
Gate-checked strollers are returned at the baggage carousel. Oversized items like travel car seats are sometimes delivered at a separate belt. Ask at the information desk if yours does not appear on the main carousel.
