How Much Does It Cost to Get from Boryspil Airport to Kyiv?

Last updated: March 2026

Boryspil sits 35 km east of central Kyiv, making the journey longer and more traffic-dependent than at many European airports. Prices vary by time of day and destination.

Cost breakdown by destination

| Destination | Distance | Uber/Bolt (UAH) | Private Transfer (UAH) | EUR estimate | |-------------|----------|-----------------|----------------------|-------------| | Kyiv Central Station | 35 km | 600–900 | 800–1,100 | 14–25 | | Khreshchatyk / center | 36 km | 650–1,000 | 850–1,200 | 15–28 | | Podil | 38 km | 650–1,100 | 850–1,300 | 15–30 | | Pozniaky (left bank) | 25 km | 500–800 | 700–1,000 | 12–23 | | Obolon | 40 km | 700–1,200 | 900–1,400 | 16–32 | | Brovary | 15 km | 300–500 | 500–700 | 7–16 |

The SkyBus to Kyiv Central Station is a flat 100 UAH (~2.30 EUR). The Boryspil Express train to the same station is also 100 UAH.

What affects the price

Traffic is the main variable. The E40 highway from Boryspil to Kyiv is often congested during rush hours (8–10 AM, 5–8 PM). Uber and Bolt surge pricing can push fares 30–50% higher during these windows.

Unofficial taxis at the airport charge 1,500–3,000 UAH (~35–70 EUR) for the same route that costs 600–1,000 UAH through an app. Never agree to a price from someone who approaches you inside the terminal.

Budget vs comfort

For a solo traveler on a budget, the SkyBus or train at 100 UAH is hard to beat. From Kyiv Central Station, the metro connects to most neighborhoods for an additional 8 UAH.

For groups, a private transfer at 800–1,200 UAH to the center splits to about 200–300 UAH per person for a group of four, which is barely more than the bus while offering door-to-door service.

Currency tip

Ukraine uses the hryvnia (UAH). Airport exchange rates are acceptable but not great. ATMs at the terminal dispense UAH and work with Visa and Mastercard. Uber and Bolt accept card payment through the app, so you can ride without cash.
