Getting a taxi after dark
Taxis are still available outside the terminal at night, but the selection is much smaller. You may see only a handful of drivers waiting, and prices run higher than in daylight — fewer drivers means less competition, and they know it. Taxis here are unmetered with no published tariff, so agree the fare before you get in.
The road from the airport into the city is not well lit in several stretches. While the route is generally safe, it can feel uneasy if you are unfamiliar with the area.

Lome-Tokoin does not have a transit hotel or sleeping pods. The terminal is not designed for overnight stays and security may ask you to leave after the last flight. If your onward transport is not until morning, book a nearby hotel instead.
