When the bus wins (Milan trips)
Almost always for solo travelers and couples. At 8 € with Terravision, the coach costs a small fraction of any car for the same journey time. These are comfortable coaches, not cramped city buses. You sit, relax, and arrive at Milano Centrale in about 55 minutes. For the price difference, the coach is the default choice.
When a transfer wins
Late night: Buses stop around 1 AM. If your Ryanair flight arrives at midnight or later and you're heading to Milan, a transfer is your lifeline.
Groups of 4+: A transfer is priced per vehicle rather than per head, so it starts making economic sense once the coach fares add up — get a van quote for your party size and divide it by the number of you, then compare against 8 € each.
Families with small children: The bus involves waiting at stops, managing luggage in storage compartments, and arriving at busy Milano Centrale — not great with a stroller and tired toddlers.
Lake destinations: Going to Lake Como, Lake Garda, or Lake Iseo? No bus serves these routes from BGY. A transfer with a fixed price is the only practical option.
