What it costs to get from Nice airport to your destination

Last updated: April 2026

Nice airport serves both the city itself and the broader French Riviera, so costs range from pocket change to significant depending on where you are headed.

Nice city center

This is where the airport's location really shines. The city center is just 6 km away.

  • Tram (Line 2): free between the terminals and Grand Arenas; beyond that a Lignes d'Azur Solo single is EUR 1.70, or EUR 10 for the dedicated airport return ticket. Under 30 minutes to the centre
  • Bus (98 or 99): same Lignes d'Azur ticketing, 20-30 minutes
  • Taxi: EUR 32, the airport's indicative 2026 fare to Nice Centre, excluding supplements
  • Pre-booked transfer: quoted per vehicle when you book
  • Uber: EUR 15-25 (when available)

For a couple with light luggage, two Solo tram tickets at EUR 1.70 each are hard to argue with. For a family of four, the airport's indicative EUR 32 taxi fare may be comparable to four separate tram tickets while offering door-to-door service — bearing in mind supplements can be added on top.

Why taxi fares vary

The airport's published figures — EUR 32 to Nice Centre, EUR 72 to Antibes/Juan-les-Pins, EUR 85 to Cannes, EUR 95 to Monaco — are described as indicative 2026 prices excluding supplements, not as a hard regulated flat rate. Taxi tariffs in the Alpes-Maritimes are set by prefectoral order, and supplements (night, Sunday, luggage, extra passengers) can be added on top. So treat those numbers as the airport's guide price and agree the fare before you set off.

For destinations the airport does not list, there is no published figure to rely on at all. Pre-booked transfers lock in a price regardless of traffic, which is particularly valuable for longer journeys.

Budget options for the Riviera

Buses along the Riviera coast are cheap, and the 100 bus from Nice to Monaco is a popular tourist route in its own right. Fares vary by operator and by whether you leave the Nice metropolitan network, so check Lignes d'Azur and the regional network for the current price. These buses depart from Nice, not the airport: to use them you would take the tram into town first and find the bus stop.

Trains along the coast are also affordable and frequent. Nice to Monaco takes 20-25 minutes; check SNCF for the fare. Again, this requires getting to Nice Gare Thiers first.

These budget options work well for day trips but are impractical with luggage directly from the airport.

What to budget

For Nice city: from free (terminals to Grand Arenas) to EUR 1.70 on a Solo tram ticket, up to the airport's indicative EUR 32 taxi fare, depending on how much convenience you want.

For Riviera destinations: use the airport's indicative taxi fares as your anchor — EUR 72 to Antibes, EUR 85 to Cannes, EUR 95 to Monaco, excluding supplements — or get a fixed transfer quote. A pre-booked transfer offers price certainty that an indicative fare plus supplements does not, especially during peak summer.
