Traveling through Jinnah International Airport with children requires some extra planning. The airport itself is manageable, but ground transportation options for families are limited compared to more developed markets.
Inside the terminal
The international terminal has basic facilities. Restrooms are available but baby changing stations are limited. Luggage trolleys can be found near the carousels, though they may require a small deposit. The arrivals hall has a pharmacy and convenience shops for essentials.
Immigration queues can be long. If traveling with small children, be patient and allow extra time. There is no dedicated family lane.

Karachi has no taxi meters and no published airport tariff, so there is no fixed fare to quote for any of these. The apps show you a price before you accept it; a transfer fixes the price at booking; a cab is whatever you negotiate.
The car seat problem
This is where Karachi differs from most international cities. No regular taxi, Careem, or inDrive vehicle comes with a child car seat. Pakistan does not have strong enforcement of child restraint laws, so the market simply does not provide them.
Your options are:
1. Bring your own car seat from home and install it in the vehicle 2. Book a private transfer with a car seat arranged at the time of booking (the most reliable option) 3. Hold your child on your lap in the back seat (common local practice but not recommended for safety)

Managing luggage with kids
