For a straight run to the Cairns CBD, Esplanade, or Reef Fleet Terminal, the taxi is the practical choice. This is the classic case for a pre-booked transfer: you know the cost in advance, the driver monitors your flight, and you get a comfortable vehicle for a meaningful journey. For the CBD, take the taxi or check Uber. The 7 km trip does not justify much of a premium. For Port Douglas, or if you travel with family and need a specific vehicle, book a fixed price rather than letting the meter decide over 67 km.
