HYD - Hyderabad

How Much Does It Cost to Get from Hyderabad Airport to the City?

Last updated: July 2026

Rajiv Gandhi Airport is about 25 km from central Hyderabad, and getting into the city is remarkably affordable by international standards. What it is not is predictable from a web page - so here is how each option is priced, and where to read the actual number.

Why there are no prices in this table

There used to be. We removed them.

The Pushpak fare is not one flat number - it varies by route and by how far down the route you go, and TGSRTC has at times run discounted night-time fares on some routes. Uber and Ola are dynamically priced by definition. The pre-paid counter posts its own rate card. Private transfer operators each set their own price.

Any range we printed would be a snapshot of four different moving targets, and a stale price is worse than no price because it reads as though someone checked it. Every option above shows you the real, current number before you are committed to anything. That is where to look.

Distances, which are what actually drive the price

DestinationDistance from airport
Gachibowli18 km
Hitech City / Madhapur22 km
Banjara Hills25 km
Jubilee Hills27 km
Charminar / Old City28 km
Secunderabad30 km

The drive is 35-60 minutes depending on traffic and which of these you are heading to.

Costs that are easy to miss

  • Surge pricing. Uber and Ola surge during peak hours and late nights. Check the app before confirming - and remember the pre-paid counter and a pre-booked transfer are both immune to it.
  • Toll charges. The route from the airport uses the ORR expressway. App cabs usually include tolls in the quoted price, but verify. Pre-paid taxis and private transfers also include tolls.
  • Tipping is not expected in India for app cabs. For pre-paid taxis, rounding up is a nice gesture but not obligatory.

Best value by situation

Tightest budget: the Pushpak Bus is the clear winner. It is air-conditioned and clean, and it costs a fraction of a cab - as long as your destination is near a stop on its route.

Best overall value: Uber Go or Ola Mini gives you a door-to-door AC car ride for a few euros. This is what most local professionals use.

Groups of 3-4: an Uber XL or Ola SUV split between the group works out to very little per head, which is hard to argue with for door-to-door service.

No apps, no Indian SIM: the pre-paid taxi counter inside arrivals. Fixed rate, posted on a board, receipt with your car number, no surge.

First-time India visitors: a private transfer gives you a known driver, flight tracking, and a smooth exit from a busy arrivals hall, at a price you agreed before you flew.
