Getting from Warsaw Chopin Airport to your destination

Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) is 18 km from the city center (Old Town area), about 30 minutes by car. The SKM/KM train takes 25 minutes to the central station and is the cheapest option — single tickets are sold from machines at the station and via the WTP/Jakdojade apps, so check the current fare there before you travel. Chopin Airport has one main terminal with two areas (A for Schengen, B for non-Schengen). It's modern and well-organized. After passport control and baggage claim, you exit into the arrivals hall with shops, cafes, ATMs, and SIM card vendors.

The taxi rank is outside to the left. The train station (Warszawa Lotnisko Chopina) is in the terminal building — follow signs for "Kolej" (rail). Bus stops are right outside. It's all very compact and well-signed in Polish and English.

Train (SKM S2/S3 or KM): The best option for most travelers. The station is inside the airport terminal. Trains run to Warszawa Centralna (central station) in about 25 minutes, every 15-30 minutes. Bus (175, 188, N32): Bus 175 goes to the city center via the Old Town. Same public-transport ticket as the train (check the current price at the stop machine or app). Takes 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Runs frequently. Night bus N32 operates after midnight.

Uber/Bolt/FreeNow: All three work at WAW. Uber is most popular. The apps quote your fare upfront before you confirm the ride, so open the app at arrivals to see the real price for your trip. Pickup is from designated areas. Cashless and convenient. Prices surge during rush hours.

Taxi: Official airport taxis from the rank outside. These are metered — the current flag-fall and per-km rate are posted on the taxi door and on the meter, so you can see the fare build up in real time.
