Arriving late at Warsaw Airport: night transport options

Last updated: March 2026

Warsaw Chopin handles flights until about 1 AM, and budget airlines frequently arrive close to midnight. Here's how to get to your hotel when you land late.

What works after midnight

Night bus N32 — the budget lifesaver

Warsaw has an excellent night bus network. The N32 runs from the airport through the city center all night long:

  • Fare: 4.40 PLN (~€1)
  • Frequency: Every 30 minutes
  • Route: Airport → Centralna → Old Town area
  • Journey time: 30-40 minutes to center
This is genuinely useful. The bus is clean, safe, and runs consistently. Buy a ticket from the machine at the stop or via the Jakdojade app. Remember to validate your ticket.

Uber/Bolt — available 24/7

Both apps work around the clock in Warsaw. Late-night pricing:

  • Midnight-1 AM: Normal or slightly elevated (35-55 PLN)
  • 1 AM-4 AM: Often cheaper due to low demand (30-45 PLN)
  • Friday/Saturday nights: Surge pricing possible (50-75 PLN)
Wait times are usually 5-10 minutes late at night. Warsaw has a healthy supply of late-night drivers.

Taxis — at the rank for late flights

Official taxis wait for the last flights. After all flights have landed and passengers dispersed, the rank empties. If you exit arrivals and find no taxis, use Uber/Bolt or the night bus.

Night meter rate (10 PM-6 AM) is about 50% higher than daytime: expect 50-75 PLN to center.

Pre-booked transfer — guaranteed

A transfer (€18-32) ensures your driver is there regardless of delays or the hour. The driver tracks your flight and adjusts.

Train — not running

The last airport train departs around midnight. Not an option for very late arrivals.

Late-night price comparison

| Transport | Night price to center | Availability | |---|---|---| | Night bus N32 | 4.40 PLN (~€1) | All night, every 30 min | | Bolt | 30-55 PLN (€7-13) | Good | | UberX | 35-55 PLN (€8-13) | Good | | Taxi (night rate) | 50-75 PLN (€12-17) | If flights arriving | | Transfer | €18-32 | Guaranteed |

Safety at night

Warsaw is safe at night by European standards. The airport area is well-lit and secure. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Official taxis only — unlicensed drivers are more bold at night. Walk to the official rank.
  • Night bus is safe — N32 is well-used and there's safety in numbers. It passes through major streets.
  • Praga district: If your hotel is in Praga (east bank), it's safe but quieter at night. Having door-to-door transport (Uber) is better than bus-and-walk.
  • Phone battery: Keep your phone charged for Uber/Bolt. The airport has charging stations in arrivals.

Delayed flights

Budget airlines from Chopin often arrive 30-60 minutes late. If your 10 PM flight becomes 11 PM:

  • You can still catch the last train (if you're quick)
  • Night bus N32 is running
  • Uber/Bolt don't care about your delay
  • Pre-booked transfers auto-adjust

Our recommendation

Budget travelers: Night bus N32. At €1 for a 30-minute ride to the center, it's hard to argue with.

Comfort seekers: Bolt or Uber. Quick, affordable, door-to-door.

Families or first-timers: Pre-booked transfer. Walk out, find your driver, done.
