BRQ - Brno

How much does it cost to get from Brno Airport to the city?

Last updated: April 2026

Brno Airport is just 8 km from the city center. The Czech Republic uses the Czech Koruna (CZK), not the euro — check the rate on the day rather than trusting a printed conversion. Everything here is affordable.

The budget option: Bus 76

Bus 76 runs between the airport and the city center (Hlavni nadrazi). The airport sits inside Brno's zones 100 + 101, so an ordinary city ticket covers it. DPMB prices a 60-minute ticket at 25 CZK (12 CZK reduced, which includes children under 15) — that is the one to buy, since the ride takes about 25-30 minutes and the 20 CZK 15-minute ticket will not cover it. A 24-hour ticket is 90 CZK. You can buy from machines at the stop or use the DPMB app.

For two people: 50 CZK. Absurdly cheap. The bus is clean, reliable, and runs every 20-30 minutes during the day. Fares are revised from time to time — the current price list is on dpmb.cz.

The easy option: Taxi

There is no fixed airport taxi fare at BRQ and no single published city tariff we can point you to, so we are not going to print a number that may already be stale. What is true: the ride to the centre is short (8 km), metered taxis run from the rank, and each firm sets its own tariff. Ask the rate before you get in, or use an app — Bolt works in Brno and quotes the fare up front, which is the simplest way to know the price before you commit.

Honestly, the price difference between a taxi and a transfer in Brno is tiny. The transfer mainly adds the convenience of a driver waiting with your name and a fixed price.

Currency tips

  • The Czech Republic is not in the Eurozone — you need CZK
  • ATMs at the airport give fair rates. Avoid currency exchange counters
  • Some taxis accept EUR but at a bad rate — pay in CZK
  • Transfers are usually priced in EUR and charged to your card

Bottom line

Brno is incredibly affordable. The bus is practically free at 25 CZK, and the taxi ride is short enough that it stays cheap by European standards — just get the price quoted before you set off, since fares are not fixed. Unless you're going to the Moravian wine country (Mikulov, Znojmo), there's no scenario where getting from BRQ to the city is expensive.
