- Grab: upfront quote in the app, cheapest for most routes, cheapest overall. Set the app up before you arrive.
- Metered taxi: Mai Linh and Vinasun are the reputable brands, honest with the meter, marginally more than Grab. Check the rate sticker and that the meter runs.
- Pre-booked transfer: fixed price agreed at booking, driver waiting with your name. Best for Hoi An, families, and late arrivals.
- Local bus: cheapest of all, but route 12's stops are a ~10-minute walk from the terminal and it runs only roughly 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Not realistic with luggage.
- Train to Hue: book with Vietnam Railways from Da Nang station. Scenic, 2.5-3 hours.

Time of day has minimal impact. Vietnamese taxi meters are consistent and there are no official night surcharges, though Grab prices can edge up when driver availability is low.
Traffic around Da Nang can add a few minutes but rarely affects a metered fare much. The airport's proximity to the city means you spend little time in traffic.
