At the airport
VLC is modern and spacious with clean restrooms, including family facilities. There are cafes and shops in the terminal for snacks and essentials. The terminal is manageable in size — you will not be walking long distances with children. Luggage carts are available.
Child seats
Spanish law requires children under 135 cm (roughly up to age 9-10) to use appropriate child restraints in cars. Taxis in Spain are legally exempt from this requirement, meaning your child can ride in a taxi without a car seat. However, for safety, a car seat is still recommended for young children, especially on highways.
If you want a car seat, book a private transfer and request one at the time of booking. Uber and Cabify drivers may or may not have seats available. Bringing your own travel seat is always the safest bet.
Metro with kids

The City of Arts and Sciences with its aquarium is 15 minutes from the airport. The beaches of Malvarrosa and Patacona are 20-25 minutes. Gandia, a popular family beach town, is about 50-65 minutes south. All are easily reachable by taxi or transfer.
