Getting from Eindhoven Airport to your destination

Eindhoven Airport (EIN) is just 8km from the city center, about 15 minutes by car. The airport bus (401/400) takes you to Eindhoven Station in about 25 minutes for 4-5 EUR. A taxi costs 25-35 EUR and a private transfer about 25-40 EUR. Eindhoven is a budget airline hub (Ryanair, Transavia, Wizz Air), so many travelers are watching their budget — the bus works great for most people.

Eindhoven Airport is a small, single-terminal airport. After baggage claim, you walk through a compact arrivals hall and exit directly outside. Everything is within a 2-minute walk: bus stop, taxi rank, pickup area.

The airport handles a lot of low-cost traffic, so it can feel crowded when several Ryanair flights land close together. But it's still small enough to navigate in minutes.

There's a small shop and café inside, plus ATMs. Don't expect the facilities of Schiphol — this is a no-frills airport.

Bus 400 — Similar route, slightly different stops. Also goes to Eindhoven Station.

Taxi — Available at the rank outside arrivals. Expect 25-35 EUR to the city center. Dutch taxis are metered and regulated. Not cheap, but fair.

Private Transfer — Pre-booked at 25-40 EUR to Eindhoven center. Makes sense for groups and families. Also useful if you're heading somewhere other than central Eindhoven.

Rental Car — Available at the airport. Eindhoven is easy to drive in and park (by Dutch standards). Useful if you're visiting the Brainport tech region.

Many people use Eindhoven as a gateway to Amsterdam — that's a 1.5-hour drive or 1.5-hour train ride. If that's you, take the bus to Eindhoven Station and catch a train. A direct transfer to Amsterdam costs 150-200 EUR.

Bus 401 to Eindhoven Station: ~4-5 EUR.

Eindhoven Airport has a curfew — most flights land before 11 PM. The last buses run until about midnight. After that, you need a taxi or pre-booked transfer. The taxi rank usually has cars for the last flights of the evening.

If you're on a very late Ryanair flight (delays happen), make sure you have a backup plan — either a pre-booked transfer or the taxi company's number.

The airport bus is fine for light luggage but gets crowded when multiple budget flights land. With kids and suitcases, it's manageable but not comfortable.

For families, a taxi or transfer at 25-40 EUR is a sensible spend. Request a minivan for larger families (35-55 EUR). Child seats should be requested in advance with a transfer — Dutch taxis don't carry them.

Transfer: Drivers wait outside the arrivals exit or in the small pickup zone. With such a small airport, finding each other is never an issue.

Take a taxi if: You have luggage, it's late, or you're going somewhere specific in the Eindhoven area.

Book a transfer if: You're a family, need child seats, heading to Tilburg/Den Bosch/Amsterdam, or want fixed pricing.

Take the train from Eindhoven Station if: You're heading to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, or elsewhere in the Netherlands — Eindhoven is well-connected by rail.
