When a grand taxi makes sense
If you are a solo traveller or couple arriving during daytime, speak some French, and enjoy the authentic Moroccan experience, a grand taxi works fine. The drivers know the roads and you will get there safely. Just be prepared to negotiate firmly.
The shared grand taxi option at 150–200 MAD per person is genuinely cheap, but you will wait until the car fills up — which could be 10 minutes or 45 minutes.
When a pre-booked transfer is worth it
For families, late arrivals, and anyone who values a fixed price, the pre-booked option is clearly better. You pay less than a private grand taxi, get a newer vehicle, and skip the negotiation entirely.
The 70 km distance also means comfort matters more than usual. Air conditioning that actually works, enough legroom, and space for luggage makes a real difference on a journey of nearly an hour.
