Why the price range is so wide
Traffic is the single biggest factor. Lagos is one of the most congested cities in the world. During rush hours (7–10 AM, 4–8 PM), Bolt applies heavy surge pricing and taxi drivers charge more because they are stuck in traffic for hours.
The same Bolt ride can cost dramatically less at midnight than in rush hour. The difference is genuine and large — Lagos traffic, not distance, is what you are paying for.
Toll and bridge costs
The route from the airport to Victoria Island crosses the Third Mainland Bridge, which is toll-free. If you take the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge to reach Lekki, LCC publishes the toll as NGN 270 for a saloon car and NGN 360 for an SUV or minivan, payable electronically by eTag — the bridge does not take cash.
