How Much Does It Cost to Get from Kaunas Airport to the City?

Where to get the actual prices

None of the options here has a fixed airport tariff to publish, so the honest version is what each one depends on and where to check it.

City bus (route 29G / airport express): by far the cheapest option. The fare depends on how you buy: the Žiogas ticket app and a Kaunas transport card are cheaper than a paper ticket bought from the driver. Kaunas changed its public transport fares at the start of 2026, so check the operator (kvt.lt) or the Žiogas app for the current price rather than an older quoted figure. The ride takes 30-40 minutes and the bus is a standard city bus without luggage storage.

Bolt (ride-hailing app): Bolt shows you the price before you confirm, so there are no surprises — that quote is the real number. Surge pricing applies during peak hours and when several flights land at once.

Taxi from the rank: some taxis use meters, others quote a flat fare, and there is no single published airport rate. Ask for the price before you get in. Bolt is generally the safer bet for transparent pricing.

Pre-booked private transfer: a price fixed when you book, covering meet-and-greet and flight tracking. A minivan (up to 7 passengers) costs more than a sedan.

Transfer to Vilnius: this is the big one — if you are flying into Kaunas but staying in Vilnius, that is a 100 km journey and a significant additional cost. Get it quoted. A budget alternative exists via coach (FlixBus, Kautra) from Kaunas bus station, but you have to get to the station first.
