How much does it cost to get from Bromma Airport to Stockholm?

Last updated: April 2026

Bromma is only 8 km from Stockholm city centre, so transport costs are lower than you might expect compared to other airports. What follows is how each option is priced — and why, for a Swedish airport, that is a more useful answer than a table of numbers.

First, two things that have changed

The Flygbussarna airport coach is gone. Vy Flygbussarna withdrew the Bromma route on 24 December 2024 after traffic at the airport fell away. Any cost guide still listing it — and there are many — is pricing a bus you cannot board.

There is now a tram to the terminal. Swedavia directs passengers to tram line 31 (Tvärbanan), stop Bromma Flygplats, which you can see on your left as you walk out of arrivals.

Tram line 31 (Tvärbanan)

The cheapest way in. It runs on a standard SL ticket, bought in the SL app or with an SL Access card — the same ticket that covers the metro and commuter rail you connect onto. SL sets and periodically revises the fare, so check sl.se for the current price rather than trusting a figure printed in a guide.

Taxi

This is the part travellers get caught by. Sweden deregulated its taxi market, so there is no official fare from Bromma to the city — each company sets its own prices, and two cars sitting side by side in the same rank can charge very differently for the identical trip.

What protects you is the comparative price: every Swedish taxi must display, in large black digits on a yellow sticker, what a standard 10 km / 15 minute journey costs with that company. Compare the stickers before you choose a car. Alternatively ask for a fixed price ("fast pris") — and per Swedavia's own guidance, make sure it is entered and visible on the meter before the journey starts.

Uber and Bolt

The app quotes a price before you confirm, and it moves with demand — rush hour and bad weather push it up. The number in the app at the moment you book is the only one that means anything.

Pre-booked private transfer

The price is fixed when you book and does not move with traffic, delays or the hour. You pay for a named driver waiting for you, flight monitoring, and a guaranteed vehicle size. For groups and families the cost splits across the car.

What affects the price

Traffic is the main variable. During morning rush (7-9 AM) or evening rush (4-6 PM), taxi and rideshare prices rise through longer journey times or surge pricing. The tram is unaffected — it is a flat SL fare whatever the traffic. Taxi companies may also apply higher evening and weekend tariffs.

You will notice we have stopped quoting krona figures for taxis, rideshares and transfers. In a deregulated market with per-company pricing, any number we printed would be a guess that reads like a fact — and it would rot the first time a company changed its rates. The yellow sticker, the app, and your booking confirmation are the honest sources.
