Libreville airport is about 11 km north of the city center. Gabon uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF), pegged to the euro at a fixed 655.957 XAF = 1 EUR. That peg is set by treaty rather than by a market, so unlike most currencies you will meet on a trip, it does not drift — if you think in euros, the arithmetic stays reliable.

Libreville taxis are not metered. There is no published tariff, no regulated airport fare, and no authority that sets one. The price is whatever you and the driver agree before you get in. Any figure printed here would be a guess dressed up as information, and you would be the one discovering that at the kerb.
What is true and useful:
Shared taxi: the driver picks up multiple passengers heading in a similar direction. Cheapest motorized option, but you may stop several times and the route is not direct. Not practical with luggage.
Private taxi ("course"): you negotiate this before getting in. A local pays less than an arriving foreign passenger — negotiation is expected and not considered rude, it is simply how it works. Agree the total, covering all passengers and bags, before the car moves.
Pre-booked transfer: fixed price, meet-and-greet, air-conditioned vehicle, no negotiation. You know the number before you fly.
Hotel shuttle: some hotels include it free for guests, others charge. Ask when you book the room and get it in writing.
What affects the price
Time of day is a real factor. Late-night taxis charge more because fewer drivers are available and they know it. Daytime fares are lower and more negotiable.
Your destination matters. Central Libreville (Quartier Louis, Boulevard Triomphal, Centre Ville) is the standard distance. Hotels further along the coast road toward Cap Esterias or inland toward Owendo cost more.
Traffic in Libreville can be heavy during morning and evening rush periods. This does not change a fixed transfer price but can affect a negotiated taxi fare if the driver expects to sit in it.
Payment and currency
