Arriving at Skukuza Airport late or off-schedule

The scheduled flights listed on the Skukuza Airport site arrive in the late morning and early afternoon. If your arrival falls outside those times, for example because of a delay, plan carefully.

What the official pages say

The airport site lists scheduled daily services from Johannesburg and Cape Town, with arrivals at 11:05, 12:55 and 14:05 at the time of checking. The park authority's page lists different departure times for some of these flights, so confirm your flight time with the airline. The pages we checked do not describe a taxi rank, public bus or ride-hailing pickup at the airport.

Your options

Pre-booked transfer: If included in your booking, a driver meets you as described in your confirmation, and the price is fixed at booking. Check the meeting point and the contact number in your confirmation before you fly, and tell the provider if your flight is delayed.

Transport arranged by your accommodation: Ask your camp or lodge what happens if your flight is late, and who to contact.

Park access hours: Access hours for the park and its gates are set by the park authority. Check them before you plan a late transfer.

• Charge your phone before you travel
• Keep the transfer contact number within reach
• Do not rely on finding transport at the airport on arrival
