At Figari the choice is between the airport taxis, the shuttle to Porto-Vecchio and a pre-booked transfer. This comparison uses only what the airport and the local authority publish.
How the airport taxi works
The airport states that taxis are parked in front of the arrivals area, from the first flight to the last. The airport page lists the drivers' contact numbers. It does not publish a tariff, so there is no published price to compare against. Before you set off, ask the driver for an estimate or how the fare is calculated, and confirm that the destination is accepted.
How the shuttle works
The shuttle links Figari with Porto-Vecchio every day, all year, in about 30 minutes, and tickets are sold on board. It is run by the Communaute de Communes du Sud-Corse. The shuttle suits travelers whose destination is Porto-Vecchio, particularly those who travel light. It does not go to every beach or village.
When a pre-booked transfer makes sense
Your accommodation is outside Porto-Vecchio. The airport lists Bonifacio at 22 km, Sartene at 44 km and Propriano at 55 km. A transfer goes to the address.
You want to know the price first. A transfer price is fixed at booking (see the live From price on this page). With a taxi you agree the fare with the driver, since no tariff is published.
You travel with children or a group. A suitable vehicle and a child seat can be requested in advance. Do not assume a taxi has a child seat; ask the operator.
You land late. The arrangement is made before you travel. If meet-and-greet is included in your booking, the confirmation says where to meet.
When a taxi is simply fine
If you are one or two travelers, have no fixed schedule and are heading to a nearby address, the taxis in front of arrivals are straightforward. Ask for an estimate and keep it in mind as the journey goes on.
