Charleroi Airport primarily serves two destinations: Brussels (60 km north) and Charleroi itself (8 km). The costs are very different for each.

The Flibco shuttle is the price-performance winner, and it gets you to Bruxelles-Midi station comfortably and reliably. Its price is dynamic rather than a fixed tariff — the earlier you book online the less you pay, and the counter price on the day is higher — so check flibco.com for your date. Prebooking also guarantees a seat.
The TEC bus + train option is cheaper still, but it adds 30+ minutes and requires you to navigate the change at Charleroi-Sud station. Not ideal with luggage. TEC and SNCB publish their own fares (tec.be, belgiantrain.be).
Charleroi city center
| Transport | How it is priced | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Taxi | Meter, over 8 km | 15 min |
| Private transfer | Fixed at booking | 15 min |
| TEC bus (line A) | TEC tariff — see tec.be | 20 min |
It is only 8 km, so a taxi is a short and modest fare and a transfer is a small premium on it. The TEC bus is the cheapest option if you are comfortable with local public transport.

Money-saving tips
Book Flibco tickets online and as far in advance as you can — the price is dynamic and the counter price on the day is the worst one. A return is cheaper than two singles.
If you are travelling as a group of 3–4, do the division: a private transfer is priced per vehicle, the shuttle per person. Split four ways, a transfer to Brussels lands much closer to four shuttle fares than people expect, and it is far more convenient. Get a quote for your date and compare it against four Flibco seats.
Belgian taxis include service in the fare — no tip is expected.
