Arriving at Charleroi Airport Late at Night

Last updated: March 2026

Charleroi handles plenty of late-evening budget flights. Ryanair and Wizz Air schedules often have landings between 10 PM and midnight. The airport does not close, but transport options thin out.

What runs after 10 PM

| Option | Availability | Notes | |--------|-------------|-------| | Flibco shuttle | Until ~12:00–12:30 AM | Timed to last flights, check schedule | | TEC local bus | Stops around 10 PM | Not an option for late arrivals | | Taxi | Available | Rank outside, may be a short wait | | Pre-booked transfer | Available | Best option for certainty |

The Flibco shuttle is the last affordable public option. It runs late enough to catch most evening flights, but if your plane is delayed past midnight, you could miss the final departure. Check the Flibco schedule for your specific arrival date — they adjust for seasonal timetables.

After the shuttle stops

Once the last Flibco bus leaves, your options are:

1. Taxi from the rank — Available but supply depends on the night. A taxi to Brussels costs EUR 100–160. To Charleroi city, EUR 20–30. 2. Pre-booked private transfer — A driver waiting at arrivals regardless of the hour. Brussels sedan: EUR 90–130. Some providers add a small night supplement of EUR 10–20.

There is no Uber or Bolt presence worth relying on at Charleroi at night.

The delayed flight problem

Budget airline delays are common. If your flight is delayed by an hour or two, the Flibco shuttle you planned to catch may be gone. A pre-booked transfer adjusts to your actual arrival time — the driver monitors your flight and waits accordingly. This is the main argument for booking ahead when you have a late scheduled arrival.

Staying near the airport

If you arrive very late and your onward journey is not urgent, there are a few hotels within 10–15 minutes of the airport:

  • Hotels in Charleroi city center (EUR 60–90/night)
  • Nearby Gosselies area has budget options (EUR 50–70/night)
A taxi to any of these is EUR 15–25. This can be a sensible option if your final destination is Brussels and you would rather travel in the morning.

Practical tips

  • Book a transfer if your flight lands after 10 PM — the margin for catching the last shuttle is tight
  • The terminal stays open for arriving passengers but is quiet and unstaffed after the last flight
  • Have your driver's phone number saved if you booked a transfer
  • Keep some cash in euros — card machines at the taxi rank may not always work late at night
  • If you miss the shuttle, do not panic — taxis are usually still available, just at a higher price
