TSF - Treviso

Arriving at Treviso Airport Late at Night

Treviso Airport handles several late-evening budget flights, particularly Ryanair services from across Europe. If your flight lands after 9 PM, the transport situation is more limited than during the day, and you need to plan accordingly.

What the Airport Looks Like Late

TSF is a small terminal that quiets down quickly after the last wave of flights. The cafe closes relatively early. ATMs remain available, and the terminal stays lit and heated (or cooled), but it is not a comfortable place to wait for extended periods. There is free Wi-Fi.

The area around the airport is suburban and not walkable to anywhere useful, especially at night. You need motorized transport to go anywhere.

Bus Availability

The ATVO bus to Venice schedules its last departure to match the final flight of the day. If your flight is on time, you should be able to catch it. However, budget airlines are frequently delayed, and the bus will not wait indefinitely. If you miss it, there is no alternative bus until the next morning.

Local buses to Treviso train station stop running by mid-evening. Do not count on them for a late arrival.

Taxi Availability

The taxi rank at TSF is small. On a normal evening, there may be a few cars waiting. But if three flights land within an hour, the rank clears out fast. Late at night, there may be no taxis at all. You can call for one, but response times from Treviso city are 15-25 minutes, and there is no guarantee during very late hours.

Why Pre-Booking Matters Here

TSF is perhaps the airport where the case for pre-booking is strongest. It is a small regional airport serving budget carriers known for delays, located outside a city (Venice) that most travelers actually want to reach. The combination of unreliable flight times, limited taxi supply, and a last-bus-or-nothing situation makes pre-booking close to essential for evening arrivals.

A pre-booked driver tracks your flight. If you are delayed by two hours, they adjust their arrival time. When you finally walk out of the terminal at 11:30 PM, there is a car and a driver with your name. That certainty is worth the cost.

Contingency Planning

If you do end up stranded, your options are limited. There are a few hotels near the airport in the Quinto di Treviso area, but reaching them on foot at night is not ideal. Save the number of a local taxi company on your phone before you travel. The terminal information desk, if still staffed, may be able to help call a car.

For Venice-bound travelers, remember that even if you reach Piazzale Roma late at night, you still need to get to your hotel by water. The vaporetto night service runs less frequently, and water taxis are expensive. Factor this into your planning.
