Jaipur Airport with Family and Kids — Practical Advice

Last updated: March 2026

Jaipur Airport is modern enough to handle families comfortably. The terminal has decent facilities and the ride into the city is relatively short. Here is what to plan for.

The car seat situation

Child car seats are not available in Uber, Ola, pre-paid taxis, or auto-rickshaws in Jaipur. India does not enforce car seat laws, and local vehicles do not carry them. Your options:

  • Bring a portable car seat — practical if you have one
  • Pre-book a private transfer with a car seat request — specify your child's age and weight when booking
The drive to the Pink City is short (20-40 minutes) and mostly on good roads, but Jaipur traffic can be unpredictable — a car seat is still advisable for young children.

Vehicle options for families

| Family Size | Best Option | Cost | |-------------|------------|------| | 2 adults + 1 child + 2 bags | Uber Go / Pre-paid taxi | INR 350-750 / EUR 4-8 | | 2 adults + 2 children + 3 bags | Uber XL / Pre-paid taxi SUV | INR 500-1,000 / EUR 5-11 | | 2 adults + 3 children + 4+ bags | Private transfer (SUV/Innova) | EUR 20-30 | | Large family / group | Private transfer (Tempo Traveller) | EUR 35-50 |

Standard Uber Go and pre-paid taxi sedans are small — typically Maruti Dzire or Hyundai Xcent. With two adults, two children, and luggage, it will be cramped. Request an SUV category if available.

Inside the airport

The arrivals hall has clean restrooms with baby changing facilities in the international terminal (T2). The domestic terminal (T1) is more basic. A WHSmith and coffee shops are available for snacks. Free luggage trolleys are at the carousel area.

Tips for families

  • Pre-book your ride if arriving with young children — standing outside in Jaipur heat (which can exceed 40C in summer) while waiting for a cab is unpleasant
  • Carry water bottles — buy them inside the terminal before stepping out
  • AC is essential from April to September — confirm your vehicle has working AC
  • Heritage hotel access: Many family-friendly heritage hotels are in the old city on narrow lanes. Confirm your driver knows the exact location
  • Evening arrivals: The city is safe but navigating unfamiliar narrow streets with children at night is harder. A driver who knows the route helps
