GDN - Gdansk

How much does it cost to get from Gdansk Airport to the city center?

Last updated: March 2026

Gdansk is one of the most affordable airport transfers in Europe. Here's what each option costs.

The short answer

Train: 3.80 PLN (under €1). Taxi: 60-80 PLN (€13-18). Transfer: €18-25.

Full price breakdown

| Transport | Cost | Time | Door-to-door? | |---|---|---|---| | SKM train | 3.80 PLN (~€0.85) | 25-30 min | No — to Główny station | | Bus 210 | 4.60 PLN (~€1) | 35-45 min | No — stops along route | | Bolt/Uber | 45-65 PLN (€10-14) | 20-25 min | Yes | | Taxi (day) | 60-80 PLN (€13-18) | 20-25 min | Yes | | Taxi (night) | 80-110 PLN (€18-24) | 15-20 min | Yes | | Pre-booked transfer | €18-25 | 20-25 min | Yes |

The train is absurdly cheap

At 3.80 PLN (about €0.85), the SKM train from Gdansk Airport might be the cheapest airport-to-city train in Europe. And it's not a slow, awful train — it's a modern commuter rail that drops you at Gdańsk Główny (main station) in the heart of the city, walking distance to the Old Town.

Buy tickets from the machines on the platform (cards accepted). Trains run every 15-30 minutes during the day.

The Tri-City factor

Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia form the "Tri-City" (Trójmiasto). The SKM train connects all three:

| To | Train time | Train cost | Taxi cost | Transfer | |---|---|---|---|---| | Gdańsk Główny | 25 min | 3.80 PLN | 60-80 PLN | €18-25 | | Gdańsk Oliwa | 15 min | 3.80 PLN | 40-55 PLN | €14-20 | | Sopot | 30-35 min | 4.80 PLN | 80-100 PLN | €22-32 | | Gdynia Główna | 40-45 min | 5.60 PLN | 100-140 PLN | €30-42 |

The train covers all three cities for pocket change. Even to Gdynia (25 km), it's under 6 PLN.

When road transport makes sense

Hotels outside the train line: Not every hotel is near an SKM station. If your accommodation is in Wrzeszcz, Zaspa, or Przymorze, you might need a bus or taxi from the station anyway.

Heavy luggage: The walk from the terminal to the train station (5-10 min) and from Główny station to your hotel isn't fun with 3 suitcases.

Groups: A taxi at 65 PLN split 3-4 ways is roughly the same as individual train tickets.

Late night: No trains after ~11 PM. Taxi/Bolt or transfer only.

Hidden costs

  • Train + walk: The train gets you to Główny station. Your hotel might be a 10-15 minute walk from there (most Old Town hotels are). No extra cost, but factor in the walk time.
  • Taxi night surcharge: 50% more after 10 PM. A 70 PLN daytime ride becomes ~105 PLN at night.
  • Bolt/Uber surge: Possible during peak times or bad weather, but generally modest in Gdansk.
  • No tolls: There are no highway tolls between the airport and Gdansk.
