At Menorca Airport you can take a taxi from the rank, ride the line 10 bus, or pre-book a transfer. This page compares the taxi and the transfer.
The airport taxi
The airport tells passengers to take a taxi only from the signed rank at the terminal, to avoid drivers who offer rides from other places, and to ask for a receipt in case of complaint. Fares are not a single price: the airport publishes a 2025 fare sheet with indicative amounts by destination, with a day column and a night/holiday column. The sheet states that prices are approximate and may vary with the exact destination, and that night hours are 21:00 to 06:00.

Other destinations
Some examples of day fares: Mahon port area EUR 18.01, Es Castell EUR 20.06, Sant Lluis EUR 20.61, Alaior EUR 23.71, Son Bou EUR 33.06, Fornells EUR 41.41, Cala Galdana EUR 48.66, Ciutadella EUR 57.01.
What the fare sheet says about luggage and children
Luggage is free up to 50 kg in total, with a charge above that. Surfboards, bicycles or similar are not counted as luggage and cost EUR 10 extra. Babies must always travel in their own seat, and the taxi can refuse the transfer otherwise.
The pre-booked transfer
The price is shown on this page for your route and confirmed at booking, so you know the amount before you travel. You can ask for a child seat or a larger vehicle when you book. If meet-and-greet is included in your booking, the confirmation says where the driver meets you.
When each fits
A taxi fits a short run to Mahon or a nearby town, when you are happy to queue at the rank and accept an indicative fare.
A transfer fits a long run, such as Ciutadella (about 41 km), a late arrival after the bus has stopped, a family with children or a lot of luggage, or whenever you want the amount confirmed in advance.
Bus as a third option
Line 10 runs to the Mahon bus station at EUR 2.80 one way. It suits light luggage and a destination near the station or a connecting line, and the winter timetable ends earlier than the summer one.
A simple way to decide
Ask three questions. How far is your accommodation from Mahon? How much luggage and how many people are travelling? What time does your flight land compared with the last bus? If the answers are a short distance, light luggage and a daytime landing, the bus or a taxi will do. If any answer points the other way, a confirmed transfer removes the guesswork.
