Both options take you to your accommodation. The difference is how much you know before you travel.

Authorised taxis and transport companies

The airport's operator, OMA, says you can hire authorised taxi companies or transport businesses for the city-airport-city service, and that the cost and the type of service depend on the company hired. It lists four companies, each accepting cash and credit card, with hours of 05:00 to 23:00. It publishes no fare table. So you should ask how the price is set, whether it is per vehicle or per person and what it covers, and agree the total before you go. Our route database estimates about 18 km to the Zona Dorada and about 28 km to Pie de la Cuesta, so the price may differ a lot between destinations.

Pre-booked private transfer

A pre-booked transfer is arranged before you fly. The price is shown when you request a quote on this page and is confirmed at booking. Check your booking confirmation for the meeting point and for how flight delays are handled. If meet-and-greet is included in your booking, the driver meets you as stated there.

How to choose

Choose a listed taxi company if: you arrive between 05:00 and 23:00, travel light, and are comfortable agreeing a price in advance.

Choose a pre-booked transfer if: you want the arrangement settled before you fly, you arrive late or very early, you travel with children or many bags, you are a group, or you are going further than the main hotel areas, for example to Barra de Coyuca, San Marcos or Coyuca de Benitez. Request a child seat at booking and give the child's age and weight, because no official statement on child seats in airport taxis was found.

Car rental

The operator also lists car rental. It is a choice for those who plan to explore by themselves; check the terms before you book.

A note on checking

Before you leave the terminal with any driver, confirm that the person works for the company you booked or for one of the authorised companies listed by the operator. If you are unsure, ask at the airport before you leave the building. If something does not match what you agreed, say so before the trip starts, not after it. Keep your booking confirmation open on your phone while you do. Calm and clear is better than rushed, even after a long flight.
