Grab (ride-hailing) — dynamic pricing

Grab shows the exact fare in the app before you confirm, so there is no need to guess — pricing moves with demand and is generally the cheapest car option to District 1. GrabBike is cheaper still but not practical with luggage. Expect the fare to rise during peak hours or rain; check the app for a live quote.

Metered taxi — around 125,000 VND and up

Vinasun and Mai Linh are the reputable metered companies. Vinasun's published tariff for a standard 4-seat car (vinasun.vn) is an 11,000 VND opening charge for the first 500m, then roughly 17,600 VND per km up to 30km — for the ~7 km run to District 1 that works out to a fare in the neighborhood of 125,000 VND before traffic waiting time. The actual meter reading depends on the exact route and traffic. Ensure the meter is running and the driver is taking a direct route.

Pre-booked transfer — fixed price

Private transfers from SGN to District 1 are priced at a flat rate agreed at booking, regardless of traffic or time of day — check the live quote for your vehicle type; a standard sedan costs less than a larger vehicle or premium car.

Costs to other districts

District 2 (Thu Duc City/Thao Dien), District 7 (Phu My Hung), District 3, and Binh Thanh District are all a broadly similar distance from the airport to District 1, give or take — expect a comparable or somewhat higher fare depending on the exact drop-off.
