Hidden costs to watch for

Taxi tolls are the big one. The Incheon Bridge and expressway tolls add KRW 8,000-12,000 (~6-10 EUR) to any taxi ride. These are not included in the meter fare. The 20% late-night surcharge between midnight and 4 AM is another significant addition.

The AREX Express ticket price is fixed and all-inclusive. Buses accept T-money cards, which give a small discount over cash. Private transfers include tolls in the quoted price.

Best value analysis

The AREX Express at KRW 9,500 is the best value for solo travelers heading to Seoul Station or anywhere on the subway network. For groups of 3-4 people, splitting a taxi or private transfer can work out to a similar per-person cost as the bus, with the added convenience of door-to-door service.
