El Calafate Airport with Children and Family

El Calafate airport lists luggage carts for passengers and access for reduced mobility in all areas. For baby-changing rooms and other family facilities, ask at the customer service window; none are described on the official pages we checked.

Getting to the accommodation with children

The town is about 16 km away by our route estimate, about 24 minutes. El Chaltén and the Perito Moreno Glacier are much further, so plan food and water on longer trips.

Shuttle: listed in the arrivals area. Ask the desk for the fare and drop-off points. With strollers and bags, check how luggage is handled.

Taxi: goes to your address. The airport does not publish a fare, so agree how it is calculated, and the total, before you set off.

Pre-booked transfer: request a child seat when booking and give your child's age and weight. A larger vehicle can be requested for strollers and bags. Check your booking confirmation for the meeting point.

Child seat rules

No official statement on child-seat rules for taxis in Argentina was found. Ask your transfer provider what is arranged, and do not assume a taxi or shuttle has a seat.

Free Wi-Fi is listed in all areas, which helps if you need to message your driver. Have your accommodation address saved on your phone.
