Arriving at Ezeiza Airport Late at Night

Last updated: March 2026

Ezeiza receives a cluster of long-haul flights from Europe, North America, and the Middle East that land between 22:00 and 02:00. If your flight arrives in this window, here is what to expect.

What the airport looks like at night

EZE stays open 24 hours. The arrivals hall remains lit and staffed, but the atmosphere thins out considerably after midnight. Most shops and restaurants close by 23:00, leaving only a couple of basic cafes and vending machines.

Immigration is usually faster late at night — 15–30 minutes instead of the daytime 30–60 — unless several international flights land simultaneously around midnight.

Transport options after midnight

| Option | Available? | Notes | |--------|-----------|-------| | Pre-booked transfer | Yes, 24/7 | Driver tracks your flight, waits regardless of delays | | Official taxi counter | Yes, but limited | Fewer cars available, possible wait of 10–20 minutes | | Tienda Leon bus | Reduced service | Last departures around midnight, check current schedule | | Uber / Cabify | Technically yes | Very few drivers at EZE after midnight | | Remis | Limited | Counter may still be open but fewer vehicles |

The drive at night

The one genuine advantage of a late arrival: traffic is almost nonexistent. The Autopista Riccheri is empty, and the drive into Palermo, Recoleta, or Microcentro takes a smooth 35–45 minutes instead of the daytime 50–80.

Safety considerations

Buenos Aires is generally safe for travelers using licensed transport, but late at night you want to be more careful than usual. Stick to official taxis from the counter or pre-booked transfers. Do not walk out of the terminal and hail a random vehicle.

A pre-booked transfer is the safest late-night option because:

  • The driver is identified and tracked by the company
  • The vehicle details are sent to you in advance
  • Your flight is monitored, so the driver adjusts for delays
  • You walk out of arrivals and go directly to a waiting car

Late-night pricing

Taxis may charge a nighttime surcharge of roughly 20% between midnight and 6 AM. Pre-booked transfers typically honor the same fixed price regardless of arrival time — confirm this when booking.

If your flight is severely delayed

Pre-booked transfer drivers track flights and adjust their arrival time. If your flight is delayed by several hours, the transfer company will reschedule the pickup. With taxis, you simply go to the counter whenever you arrive — there will always be some vehicles, though the wait may be longer.
