How Much Does It Cost to Get from Charleroi Airport to the City?

Last updated: March 2026

Charleroi Airport primarily serves two destinations: Brussels (60 km north) and Charleroi itself (8 km). The costs are very different for each.

Brussels city center

| Transport | Cost (EUR) | Duration | Notes | |-----------|------------|----------|-------| | Flibco shuttle bus | 17 one-way / 31 return | ~55 min | Book online for best price | | TEC bus + train | 8–12 | ~90 min | Budget option, requires transfer | | Private transfer (sedan) | 90–120 | 50–60 min | Door-to-door, fixed price | | Private transfer (minivan) | 120–140 | 50–60 min | Groups, families with luggage | | Taxi (metered) | 100–160 | 50–70 min | Varies with traffic |

The Flibco shuttle is the price-performance winner. At EUR 17 it gets you to Bruxelles-Midi station comfortably and reliably. Buy tickets online in advance — counter prices are sometimes slightly higher, and prebooking guarantees a seat.

The TEC bus + train option saves a few euros but adds 30+ minutes and requires you to navigate the change at Charleroi-Sud station. Not ideal with luggage.

Charleroi city center

| Transport | Cost (EUR) | Duration | |-----------|------------|----------| | Taxi | 20–30 | 15 min | | Private transfer | 30–45 | 15 min | | TEC bus (line A) | 3–5 | 20 min |

For Charleroi, the taxi is straightforward and affordable. The TEC bus is the cheapest option if you are comfortable with local public transport.

Other Belgian destinations

| Destination | Private transfer | Shuttle + train alternative | |-------------|-----------------|---------------------------| | Bruges | EUR 180–220 | Flibco to Midi + IC train (~EUR 35 total, 2.5 hrs) | | Ghent | EUR 150–190 | Flibco to Midi + IC train (~EUR 28 total, 2 hrs) | | Antwerp | EUR 160–200 | Flibco to Midi + IC train (~EUR 27 total, 2 hrs) | | Namur | EUR 60–80 | TEC bus + train (~EUR 10, 1 hr) | | Mons | EUR 50–70 | Direct bus/train (~EUR 8, 45 min) |

Money-saving tips

Book Flibco tickets online and in advance — return tickets save about EUR 3 versus two singles. If traveling as a group of 3–4, a private transfer to Brussels at EUR 90–120 splits to roughly EUR 25–40 per person, which is only marginally more than the shuttle per head and far more convenient.

Belgian taxis include service in the fare — no tip is expected.
