Bharatpur Airport (BHR) is a small airport on the edge of Bharatpur city. Most travelers are heading either into town or onward to Sauraha for Chitwan National Park.
Why this page has no fare table
Every other cost-to-city guide we write starts with a published number: a municipal taxi tariff, an airport fare board, a train operator's ticket price. Bharatpur has none of those. Taxis and jeeps here are not metered, not regulated and not posted anywhere. The fare is whatever you negotiate, and it genuinely moves with the season, the fuel price and how hard you push.
So we are not printing a range. A range would be a guess dressed up as research, and — this is the part that matters — you would have no published list to check it against, so it could not even help you argue. What helps you is knowing where a real number comes from.
Where to get a real number
Ask your lodge. This is the answer. Chitwan lodges arrange this exact ride every day of the week, they will tell you the current going rate, and most will simply send a vehicle. They have a reputation with you to protect; a web page does not.

An auto-rickshaw into town undercuts a taxi. A pre-booked transfer to Sauraha sits above a negotiated taxi, and a lodge pickup is often bundled into your package. During monsoon season (June-September), the road to Sauraha is rougher and slower, and prices reflect it.
Why lodge pickup is the best deal
Many Chitwan lodges include airport pickup in their package rate. If not included, the pickup fee is usually comparable to or only slightly more than a taxi — but with the advantage of a confirmed vehicle, a driver who knows exactly where your lodge is, no negotiation, and a price you were told before you flew rather than at the kerb.
When comparing prices, remember that some lodges offer a full arrival package: airport pickup, canoe ride across the river to Sauraha, and transfer to the lodge. This can be surprisingly affordable and a memorable start to your Chitwan visit.
Cash is king
No taxis or transfer vehicles at BHR accept cards. Bring Nepali rupees. If you are coming from Kathmandu, withdraw cash before your flight. There are no ATMs at the airport, though Bharatpur town has several.
USD is sometimes accepted by drivers at an unfavorable exchange rate. It is better to have local currency.
