Tren Maya intermodal service
The intermodal service from the airport to the Tulum station of the Tren Maya costs 55 MXN per person, not including the train ticket. Train tickets are sold on the Tren Maya website, and their price depends on the journey you choose, so this page gives no train fare. Check the Tren Maya site for current ticket prices and for how to buy a ticket before you arrive.
Taxi
No official fare table was found for the authorised taxis in the arrivals hall, so no taxi price is given. Agree how the fare is set, and the total, before you get in, and ask whether bags or extra passengers change the price.
Pre-booked private transfer
The price is shown when you request a quote on this page and is confirmed at booking. Our route database lists distances of about 37 km to Tulum, about 35 km to Akumal, about 47 km to Puerto Aventuras and about 73 km to Playa del Carmen. Price depends on destination and vehicle, so use the quote tool rather than guessing.
What to add up
If you take the bus, add the taxi or other transport from the stop in Tulum Centro to your accommodation. If you take the intermodal service, add the train ticket and any onward ride. Compare the total for your whole group and your luggage, and the time, not only the fare for one person.
The bottom line
The public options have published fares, but they end in the town or at a station. A taxi has no published tariff. A pre-booked transfer has its price confirmed in advance. Check current fares with the operators before you travel, because amounts can change. If you pay in a foreign currency, exchange rates and card fees apply, so ask your bank before you travel. When you compare, include the time you will spend waiting at the bus terminal or the station, which the published fares do not show, and remember that luggage and children make every change of vehicle slower.
