The ride from Acapulco Airport to the main hotel areas is not long, but it comes at the end of a tiring journey. Our route database estimates about 15 minutes to Acapulco Diamante, 29 to the Costera and Zona Dorada, and 32 to the traditional centre. These are estimates, not live figures.
At the airport
The operator's page for travelling with children explains that an infant is a child under 2 who travels with an adult without their own seat, and that for fare purposes most airlines treat children from 2 to 12 as minors. Policies vary by airline. It also says that baby food intended for the journey can be carried through the inspection point, that security staff may ask to check the contents, and that you should arrive earlier when you travel with small children. These notes are written for departures, but they show how the airport handles families.

Getting to your accommodation with children
Authorised taxis: the operator lists four authorised companies with hours of 05:00 to 23:00 and says the cost depends on the company. No fare table is published, so agree how the price is set, and the total, before you set off.
Pre-booked transfer: the vehicle goes to your door. You can ask for a larger vehicle for strollers and luggage. Check your booking confirmation for the meeting point.
Child seats
No official statement on child seat rules or availability in airport taxis was found. If you need a seat, request it when you book a transfer and give the child's age and weight, then confirm it in your booking confirmation. Do not assume a taxi at the rank will have one.
Practical points
Carry water, snacks and any medicine in your hand luggage. Keep passports and your accommodation address within reach. If one adult can stay with the bags while the other finds the driver or checks the booking, arrivals go more smoothly. Ask your transfer provider about vehicle size when you book, so that people, strollers and bags all fit.
Late arrivals with children
The listed taxi hours end at 23:00. A child who is already tired is a good reason to arrange a confirmed transfer before you fly instead of looking for one at the airport at night.
The bottom line
With young children, a ride that goes straight to your accommodation is usually the calmer way to end a long journey.
