Rhodes Airport to Rhodes Town
Rhodes Town is the closest major destination from the airport — just 14 km. A pre-booked transfer's price is fixed at booking and, for this short route, is worth comparing directly against what the meter shows.
For Rhodes Town, the bus is excellent value if your flight arrives before late evening and you are traveling light — ask the driver the current fare when you board.
Rhodes Airport to Lindos
Lindos is the destination that catches people out on Rhodes. It looks manageable on a map, but 50 km on the coastal road — particularly the section through Kolymbia and around the bends toward Anthony Quinn Bay — takes a genuine 50-60 minutes. That distance means the metered fare runs several times higher than the short Rhodes Town hop; ask the driver to run the meter, or check the tariff card for the current rate before you set off, especially at night when a surcharge applies.
Pre-booked transfers to Lindos are priced as a flat rate at booking, known before you land. For a journey this long, it's worth comparing that fixed price against what the taxi meter would show.
The public bus to Lindos requires going into Rhodes Town first and catching an onward service. Total journey time is typically 1.5-2 hours and requires waiting at the town bus station. During summer, buses to Lindos are frequent, but luggage space is limited.
What affects the price
Distance is the dominant factor on Rhodes. Unlike compact city airports, the destinations here range from 10 km to 65+ km. A journey to Kiotari is more than six times the distance of a trip to Ixia.
Time of day. Taxis carry a night surcharge between midnight and 05:00 on top of the daytime tariff — ask the driver for the current night rate, since it is revised along with the rest of the tariff. Transfer prices are fixed at booking regardless of arrival time.
Season. In July and August, demand is highest and taxi availability sometimes limited. Pre-booked transfer prices can be slightly higher in peak season.

Currency and payment
Greece uses the euro. Airport ATMs are available in the arrivals hall. Most taxis at Rhodes Airport accept cards, but it is worth confirming before departure. The bus requires cash or card depending on the operator. Transfer payments are handled online at booking.
