Rijeka Airport sits on Krk island, connected to the mainland by the Krk Bridge. All journeys to the mainland cross the bridge, which adds a consistent portion to the drive.
One honest caveat up front: only one option from this airport has an official published price, and that is the airport's own shuttle bus. Taxi fares are not published by the airport, and pre-booked transfer prices are quoted to you at booking. So this page gives you the published fare where one exists, and the distances and drive times — which are what actually drive the cost — everywhere else.
The airport shuttle bus (published fare)
Rijeka Airport runs its own shuttle from the terminal via Omišalj (Krk) and Kraljevica (mainland) to the small bus station on Jelačić Square in central Rijeka.

The shuttle serves the Rijeka corridor only. It does not run to Krk Town, Punat, Malinska, Baška or Opatija.
Taxis
Rijeka Airport does not publish a taxi tariff. It publishes a list of licensed taxi operators and states that operating a taxi from the airport without a valid parking licence is forbidden. Use a licensed operator and agree the fare before you set off — that is the only way to know what you will pay. The airport also warns that unlicensed carriers selling tickets to Rijeka Airport may only drop at a crossroad about 2 km from the terminal.
Pre-booked transfers
The price is fixed and shown to you when you book, so the figure is known before you commit. This is the practical option for the destinations the shuttle does not reach, and for arrivals outside the busy summer daytime hours when the taxi rank can be empty.

What affects the price
The Krk Bridge. All mainland destinations require crossing it. This is why Rijeka is not much cheaper to reach than you might expect for the distance, and why Krk Town — on the same island, no bridge — is a shorter and simpler run.
Season. Rijeka Airport is strongly seasonal. In July and August taxis are usually at the rank and flights are frequent; in the shoulder season and winter, both thin out considerably.
Group size. Standard sedans take up to three passengers with luggage. A larger group needs a minivan, which costs more — the difference is quoted at booking.
Best value by situation
Going to central Rijeka: The airport shuttle at 15.00 EUR is the cheapest published option. Check the monthly timetable against your flight. Going to Krk island (Krk Town, Malinska, Punat, Baška): Taxi, transfer or rental car — the shuttle does not go there. These are short runs. Going to Opatija: Taxi or pre-booked transfer; the shuttle does not serve it. Arriving off-season or late: Pre-book. An empty taxi rank at this airport is a real scenario, not a theoretical one. Exploring the region: A rental car from the terminal is worth considering if you plan to visit multiple destinations.
