Getting from Zhangye Ganzhou Airport to the city

Zhangye Ganzhou Airport (YZY) is about 25.5 km from the centre of Zhangye, roughly 27 minutes by road according to our route data (approximate). An encyclopedia entry that cites the airport operator gives about 24 km. We could not find an official English-language page listing ground transport at this airport, and we could not verify a bus timetable or taxi tariff, so this guide does not describe them. A pre-booked transfer is the option we can describe; the fixed price is shown by the live quote on this page.

YZY is a small regional airport. An encyclopedia entry citing the airport operator gives a terminal area of 4,189 square metres with two boarding gates as of 2020, and three civil aircraft stands as of 2022. We have no verified description of the arrivals hall, nor of where taxis or buses stop, so follow the signs and ask airport staff. Keep your destination written in Chinese characters, with the phone number of the hotel, since not every driver reads Latin script. If you have a pre-booked transfer, follow the meeting instructions in your booking confirmation.

Taxi: we could not verify an official taxi stand, operating hours or fare table for YZY, so we do not describe one. If you take a taxi, agree how the fare is set before you leave and ask whether it covers the whole car.

Bus: we could not verify a current airport bus or its timetable, route or fare. If you rely on one, confirm the departure time and drop-off point with the airport or your airline before you travel. Do not plan around a bus without that confirmation.

Ride-hailing apps: we could not verify whether and where pickup is available at this airport. Check the app and your phone connection before you depend on it.

Driving: the encyclopedia entry says the airport lies on Jichang Road in Ganzhou District and that county road 227 leads to the urban area of Zhangye. Check a current map and the rental company's conditions if you plan to drive.

Pre-booked transfer: if included in your booking, the meeting point is in your confirmation and the price is fixed at booking.

We could not find an official fare for any public option at YZY, so we do not quote one. Ask for the price method before you set off in any vehicle. The live quote on this page shows a fixed price for a pre-booked transfer to your destination, which lets you compare it with whatever you are offered on arrival.

We found no published statement of airport transport hours for YZY, so we cannot tell you whether a bus or a taxi is waiting for a late flight. If your flight lands in the evening or at night, settling the ride in advance is the safer approach. A pre-booked transfer, if included in your booking, gives you a defined meeting point and a price set before you fly.

Check that your luggage and passengers fit the vehicle. A standard taxi may not take several large suitcases plus a stroller. We could not confirm an official rule on child seats in Chinese taxis, so check the current requirements before you travel. If your child needs a seat, bring your own or request one when you book a transfer; a seat is only provided if your confirmation says so.

For a pre-booked transfer, the meeting point and the driver's contact details are in your booking confirmation. Follow those instructions, and use the contact number provided if you cannot find the driver. A name sign or meet-and-greet applies only if your booking confirmation says it is included. Save the number before you land, since your phone may take time to connect on arrival.

Choose a pre-booked transfer if: you want the price and meeting point settled before you fly, you land late, you travel with family or luggage, or you are heading beyond the city.

Choose whatever is available on arrival if: you are flexible, have a local SIM or data, and can confirm the fare method before you get in. Treat this as an option you have not verified in advance.

Choose to drive if: you already plan to hire a car. Confirm the pickup arrangements with the rental company.
