Arriving at Zhangye Ganzhou Airport late at night

If your flight lands at Zhangye Ganzhou Airport in the evening or after midnight, plan your ride before you leave the terminal.

What we could and could not verify

Our route data places the centre of Zhangye about 25.5 km from the airport, roughly 27 minutes by road (approximate). We could not find an official English-language page listing ground transport at YZY, and we found no published operating hours for a bus or a taxi stand. For that reason we do not tell you that a bus or a taxi will be waiting after your flight. If you rely on one, confirm it with the airport or your airline before you travel.

Your options at night

Whatever is available at the terminal: a taxi or other vehicle may be there, but we cannot say so. Before you get in, agree how the fare is set and ask whether it covers the whole car. Keep your destination in Chinese characters, with the hotel phone number, because not every driver reads Latin script.

Ride-hailing apps: we could not verify pickup rules at this airport. If you plan to use one, test the app before you travel and make sure your phone will have a signal on arrival.

Pre-booked transfer: if included in your booking, the meeting point and the driver's contact details are in your confirmation, and the price is fixed at booking. A name sign or meet-and-greet applies only when the confirmation says so. This is the one option for which we can describe how it works before you land.

If your flight is delayed

Check your flight status before you leave for the airport, not only before landing. If you have a pre-booked transfer, keep the contact number from the confirmation within reach and use it if you land well after the scheduled time. Do not assume the driver will see a delay unless your booking says flight monitoring is included.

Practical tips

• Save your accommodation name, address and phone number in Chinese characters on your phone
• Charge your phone before landing so you can reach the driver or the app
• Save the transfer contact number from your confirmation before you fly
• Take a screenshot of the map to your hotel in case the connection is slow
• Check the weather forecast for your date and keep a warm layer in your cabin bag
• If someone is meeting you in a private car, agree in advance where they will wait

What we could not confirm

We could not confirm bus times, taxi hours, a taxi fare table or ride-hailing pickup rules at YZY. These are left out on purpose rather than guessed.
