Haneda Airport is about 15 km from central Tokyo. Getting in ranges from a few hundred yen on a train to several thousand in a taxi. Here is what each option actually costs - and where we could not verify a fare from the operator or the regulator, we say so rather than guess.

The monorail fare is the same from any Haneda terminal and the same on every train type - the Haneda Express costs no more than the Local. The Discount Ticket bundles the monorail with any JR Yamanote Line station and is sold on weekends, holidays and selected dates only.
Taxis: the tariff, not a guess
Tokyo taxis are metered on a regulated tariff covering the 23 wards, Musashino and Mitaka:
- JPY 500 for the first 1 km
- JPY 100 per 232 m after that
- JPY 100 per 1 minute 25 seconds when the car is below 10 km/h (i.e. stuck in traffic)
- +20% between 22:00 and 05:00
- Expressway tolls on top - the driver will ask whether you want the expressway (faster) or surface roads (slower, no toll)
That tariff was announced by the Kanto Transportation Bureau on 19 March 2026 and took effect on 20 April 2026. It is revised every few years - the previous revision was in November 2022 - so check the current one before you travel.
Some operators also sell an approved flat fare between Haneda and certain wards, which removes the traffic risk. KM Taxi's, effective the same date:

Flat fares are set per operator and not every ward is covered, so treat these as an example of the going rate rather than a universal price, and ask at the rank what is available.
Why the Keikyu, bus and transfer prices are not on this page
They used to be. We removed them.
The Keikyu Line figure we had was the pre-October-2023 fare - Keikyu revised its fares that month and our number quietly stopped being true. Rather than replace one number we cannot check first-hand with another, we have left it out. The fare is shown at the gate and in every route app before you buy.
The same logic applies to the Limousine Bus (a fixed fare per route, shown at the counter and on the machines) and to private transfers (each operator sets its own price, quoted at booking). Every one of these tells you the real number before you are committed. A range on this page would just be a snapshot that goes stale without telling you.
Hidden costs to watch for
- Taxi expressway tolls are added on top of the meter, and are not included in the tariff above.
- The 20% late-night surcharge (22:00-05:00) catches people who land in the evening and dawdle.
- The Suica deposit of JPY 500 is refundable, but you need it upfront.
- Limousine bus round-trip tickets offer a small discount if you will use the bus for the return too.
Best value by situation
Tightest budget: the Keikyu Line to Shinagawa is hard to beat anywhere in the world for an airport rail link - a few hundred yen, 15 minutes, straight into a major hub.
Heading for the Yamanote Line: the Monorail & Yamanote Discount Ticket at JPY 590 covers both legs and usually beats buying them separately.
Balanced comfort and cost: the Limousine Bus drops you at your hotel or a major station without navigating train connections.
Groups of 3-4: a taxi or private transfer split between the group is reasonable for door-to-door service, and a flat fare (where offered) makes it predictable.
Families with children: a private transfer eliminates dragging bags through stations. It is the most relaxed option and, split across a family, not unreasonable for what you get.
