Preveza Aktion Airport serves two distinct sets of destinations — Preveza city to the east, and Lefkada island to the west. Prices reflect the distances involved, and in Greece they are not guesswork: taxi fares run on a national tariff.
The tariff everything below is built on
| Element | Rate |
|---|---|

| Airport pick-up surcharge | 4 EUR |
| Minimum fare | 4 EUR |
| Luggage over 10 kg | 0.39 EUR per item |

The airport is outside any town boundary, so every journey from PVK is charged at Tariff 2. The meter figures below are derived from that tariff and the road distances, before luggage charges. Pre-booked transfers are quoted per booking rather than set by the tariff, so we do not print a range for them — compare your quote with the meter figure and decide.
To Preveza city centre (5 km)
On the meter: about 12 EUR — note that the 4 EUR airport surcharge is a third of that on a run this short.
A short 10-minute drive. Taxis are readily available for this route.
To Lefkada Town (25 km)
On the meter: about 37 EUR.
The journey crosses the causeway and the floating bridge into Lefkada town. About 25-30 minutes under normal conditions.
To Nidri (50 km)
On the meter: about 68 EUR.
Nidri is the main resort hub on Lefkada's east coast, popular for sailing holidays and access to the Ionian islands. Allow 45-55 minutes from the airport.
To Vassiliki (65 km)
On the meter: about 87 EUR.
Vassiliki is at the southern tip of Lefkada, famous for windsurfing. About 60-75 minutes from the airport.
To Agios Nikitas (45 km, northwest)
On the meter: about 62 EUR.
A charming village on the west coast, accessible via the mountain road across the island.
To Sivota / Poros (55-65 km southeast)
On the meter: about 75-87 EUR depending on exactly where you are staying.
Quieter bays on the east and southeast coast.
To Lefkada west coast beaches (Porto Katsiki, Egremni)
These beaches are not near any accommodation — they are day trip destinations accessed by car. If you are going directly from the airport to a property near the west coast, it is a mountain road journey and distances vary, so work it out from the tariff once you know your road distance.
What affects the price
Night arrivals: this is worth getting right, because it is widely misreported. Greece does not add a percentage night surcharge — instead the night rate is Tariff 2, the same 1.25 EUR per km already charged on every out-of-town journey. Since every run from this airport is on Tariff 2 all day, landing after midnight does not increase the meter rate on any of the routes above.
Distance, not haggling: the meter, the 4 EUR airport surcharge and the luggage charges are the whole fare. There is no negotiating, and no legitimate reason for a figure far above the numbers here.
Vehicle size: a minivan for a family is priced by the transfer operator, not by the taxi tariff.
Return airport transfers: the reverse journey runs on the same tariff, though Tariff 1 applies for the portion inside a town's boundaries, so it can be slightly cheaper. Book it in advance — taxis in Nidri and Vassiliki are not always available on short notice.
Is there a budget alternative?
For Preveza city, the meter is already inexpensive. For Lefkada, there is no meaningful budget alternative to a taxi or transfer from the airport. Some travellers take a taxi to the junction near Lefkada bridge and then a local bus onward, but this is impractical with luggage and the saving rarely justifies the complexity.
