Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport sits about 20 km north of central Dhaka, but distance means very little here. Dhaka's traffic is legendary — during peak hours, that 20 km can take 2 to 4 hours. A pre-booked private transfer costs BDT 1,500–3,000 (EUR 12–25) depending on vehicle type. A metered taxi from the airport stand runs about BDT 800–1,500 (EUR 7–12), though negotiation is common.
